The LIRR Expansion Project from Floral Park to Hicksville continues to reach impressive milestones, with safety being our top priority. Integral to the Project, MTA Construction & Development and LIRR developed a series of environmental and community commitments to minimize construction impacts to residents, businesses, and commuters. The quarterly Community Scorecard program incentivizes 3rd Track Constructors (3TC), the Project’s Design-Builder, to adhere to these commitments.
Starting in the first quarter of 2020, Community Scorecards were made available online only to ensure compliance with COVID-19 guidance. Over 3,200 instructional postcards were mailed to those living within approximately 400 feet of the project corridor or an active project element. Residents were able to complete the scorecards online or by phone. Thank you all for your continued feedback!
For Quarter 1, 3TC earned a final average score of 86 out of a possible 100. Respondents in Hicksville awarded 3TC with the highest scores, while Garden City respondents gave the lowest. 3TC received the highest marks on awareness of project outreach options, rodent and pest control programs, and project inquiry response times. 3TC will continue to improve on construction noise and vibration levels, street cleanliness, and its satellite parking program.
