On Monday, February 10th, 3TC’s Community Ambassador for Mineola, Seth Sylvan (above), attended a Mineola High School basketball game and shared information about the exciting projects planned for the community as part of the LIRR Expansion Project. Seth met with students, residents, and community leaders, including Mineola School District Superintendent Dr. Michael Nagler and School Principal Mr. Whitney Smith to discuss project updates and hand out detailed information about the project’s progress.
Significant progress is being made on the Harrison Avenue Parking Structure which will increase access to Mineola station and small businesses in the downtown area. Other beneficial projects include the Willis Avenue Grade Crossing Elimination where preparatory work is underway. Eliminating the grade crossing at Willis Avenue will enhance safety and provide for a quieter and more livable community along the railroad.
