To accommodate ongoing work related to the New Hyde Park Road Grade Crossing Elimination Project, beginning February 3, 2020, the portion of New Hyde Park Road, from Plaza Avenue to 4th Avenue, will be fully closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Lasting approximately seven months, the road closure will be accompanied by signage and real-time coordination with NYSDOT to optimize signal timing on Jericho Turnpike.
Northbound New Hyde Park Road and Clinch Avenue, from Stewart Avenue, and southbound New Hyde Park Road, from Jericho Turnpike, should only be used for local, residential traffic.
Please see the detour map below for information on how to navigate around the road closure.
To help commuters access the station from both the east and west sides of New Hyde Park Road, please see the detour map below.
Due to the closure, n25 buses will NOT make the following stops (north and southbound) on New Hyde Park road:
- Plaza Avenue and New Hyde Park Road (please walk to Jericho Turnpike/New Hyde Park Road and pick up bus at temp stops north of the turnpike)
- 4th Avenue and New Hyde Park Road (please walk to Jericho Turnpike/New Hyde Park Road and pick up the bus at temp stops north of the turnpike)
- Stratford Avenue and New Hyde Park Road (please walk to Stewart Avenue/New Hyde Park Road and pick up bus at temp stops south of Stewart Ave)
Buses will be detoured off of New Hyde Park Road as shown in the map below. Buses will travel New Hyde Park Road to Stewart Ave, to Covert Ave, to Jericho Turnpike and back on route at New Hyde Park Road.
